Oversee the day to day manufacturing processing operations with respect to processing, stock management and health & safety requirements and support other functions within the warehouse.

Work with the Manufacturing Manager or Warehousing Manager to ensure all processing support for Lake are met.

Support the LMS Facilities to develop the capabilities for food and chemical processing and laboratory formulation activities.

Deputise for the Manufacturing Manager or Warehouse Manager in their absence, with regards to manufacturing and warehousing operations.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee production processes implementing the correct the regulatory framework

Processing

  • Manage stock levels in conjunction with the BSC

  • Carry out cleaning activities to maintain a high standard of Food, GMP and general warehouse hygiene

  • Write and review procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements

  • Support all processing activities

  • Assist in the planning production time to ensure customer needs are maintained and resource is allocated

  • Check finished records to ensure right first time compliance

  • Managing warehouse and stock movements

  • Produce weekly and monthly stock reports directly relating to food and chemical processing activities

  • Ensure all packaging is available when needed

  • Taking photos, scanning documents and emailing

  • Facilitating stock audits

  • Record and maintain BRC and MHRA work Instructions

  • Re-ordering consumables

  • Liaising with QRESH and H&S to maintain standards of Quality Management processes; health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment.

Goods Dispatch

  • Arrange transport for finished goods including deliveries and collections

  • Liaising with customers hauliers to arrange collections, deliveries and detailed maintaining detailed records of these transactions in conjunction with BSC.

Health and Safety

  • Ensuring correct handling of materials

  • Checking MSDS for hazardous information to relay to appropriate staff

  • Ensure excellent food safety standards are met at all times

  • Safe loading & unloading of materials and finished goods

  • Raising near miss and incident reports

  • Applying strict segregation rules for the storage of food stuffs from chemicals

  • Identifying locations of raw materials and finished products

  • Review their training requirements for new and existing processes and to ensure they remain compliant

  • Ensure training requirements on BreatheHR are completed

  • Checking receipt of orders against purchase order

  • Warehouse cleanliness

ABILITES AND SKILLS

Essentials:

  • Manufacturing or warehousing experience to BRC, GMP or similar industry standards.

  • Clear written and oral communication skills

  • Attention to detail, particularly with respect to weights and measures

  • Ability to follow instructions

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Professional telephone manner

  • COSHH and Risk Assessments

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience

Desirable:

  • A Forklift Truck qualification and valid licence

  • Knowledge of handling chemicals, as would a qualification in labelling and packing in accordance with IATA and ADR Regulations, although training will be provided

  • Operating within a warehouse environment

  • Experience within a customer service environment

  • Working shifts will be a business requirement in the future.
